Sophisticated charm
The welcome area is designed around a three-level water feature with evergreen planting softening the house. The garden includes an entertaining space with ramped corten steel and grass semi-circled amphitheatre. This scheme combines modern design and pattern analysis with high quality materials to build a sense of sophisticated charm.
Whitegates
Urban retreat
Using a clockwork route of flow to encourage exploration through the space, this garden’s centrepiece is the double pond with pergola walkway that appears to float above the water. The pergola and trees provide an important overhead plane. Planting is largely based on the new wave movement that combines grasses and perennials.
Orchard Way
For the family
Based on a series of large interlocking squares, this garden has six parasol trees lining a lawn area with water features and seat. The feature steps draw on architectural lines from the house, leading to patio area. Rough grass, wildflowers and bulbs help the design blend with the orchard beyond. A play area and zip wire provide fun for all the family.
